Awkward moments

Ever have one of those moments where you share something personal with someone only to hear crickets chirping when you’re finished?
Today, I had one of those moments.
Thank goodness, I’m not the type of person that would be upset about it.
I’m not!
OK, maybe I am.
Just a little bit.
OK, maybe more than just a little bit.
OK, maybe a whole lot.
I guess what bugs me is that I always assume the best possible reaction, the Holy Grail, but always end up with the tin cup. No, maybe a fine pewter cup. Either way, it sucks when the reaction is less-than-stellar.

OK, maybe my expectations are too high, but I like to view life from a half-full, rosy colored glass. If people fail, as they often do, I wish it weren’t in instances when I’m anticipating a better reaction. It’s such a let-down. Oh, if I could only rule the universe…

Wait, that’s too much pressure. I only wanna rule on certain designated occasions.
